Raffi Newmann

Raffi is a Fortinet Cloud Consulting Systems Engineer. Started career at Bell Canada (Major Telco), focused on networking, voice, and security. Rafi has many years of experience accumulated in large enterprises and Fortinet. Raffi is based in Calgary, Canada.

Martin Giguere

Martin started in IT in the early 90s in his mid-teen by architecting and deploying an Internet Service Provider using Linux which he learned on his own along with learning IP networking straight from Internet Request For Comments (RFC). From there, he continuously taught himself the various emerging technologies devouring each new wave that came along while working in the various sides of corporate IT (Customer, Reseller, Manufacturer). 

Cloud was the latest iteration of that self-learning process where information and new concepts were created to be consumed in that manner yet at an even faster pace. In addition to speaking fluent English and French, he also taught himself Spanish to broaden his world perspective.

Henrique Moises

Henrique is a Cloud Business Development Engineer at Fortinet, helping to develop the market and spread the world when it comes to a Cloud Cyber Security Journey, planning new architectures and explaining how different concepts work in cloud.

A technology addicted guy who started studying technology topics when I was 15yo. Graduated from BandTec - Digital School with an Associate Degree in Computer Networks in 2017. Henrique is based in São Paulo, Brazil.

Fabio Gallego

As part of CSE Latam team, Fabio Gallego started on Fortinet in 2021 focused on helping customers and SEs make the journey to Public Cloud more secure, simple, and integrated. With his previous experiences and listening to the customer needs, has also helped to architect security solutions that are integrated with DevOps teams and tasks, making cyber security an "embedded piece" of public cloud deployments.

Gallego has more than 15 years of experience in cyber security, holding Fortinet, AWS, Azure, OCI and other vendors` certifications. He graduated from Universidad de São Caetano do Sul with a degree in Networking Computers and an MBA in Information Technology Management. In his spare time, enjoys traveling, learning about different cultures and making 3D printed works. Fabio is based in São Paulo, Brazil.

 

David Gallego

David Gallego is a Cloud Business Development Engineer – LATAM, based in Colombia. He has many years of experience in networking and cloud security, accumulating several certifications for AWS, ISC2 and Fortinet. David is based on Colombia.

Octavio Carranza

Octavio Carranza is a Consulting Systems Engineer with expertise in Public Cloud Security, currently contributing to Fortinet LATAM. With over a decade of experience, he has a robust technical background in networking, security, and cloud technologies. He has been part of Fortinet for 7 years where he has been instrumental in driving technical engagements and support for the sales organization.

Octavio holds an engineering degree in Telecommunications from “Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico” and a diploma in IT Project Management from the same institution. Octavio`s technical expertise is backed by certifications such as Fortinet Certified Professional in Public Cloud Security, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CSA Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge, among others. Octavio is based in Mexico.

Eduar Moran

Eduar Moran is a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) with years of experience working alongside the infrastructure and security teams. Eduar specializes in cloud technologies and is responsible for providing feedback to improve our Fortinet Products. Eduar likes motorcycles and plays video games with his daughter.

Cedrick Mendes

Cedrick is a Fortinet Consulting Systems Engineer and a security and public cloud expert certified in AWS, Azure, and Fortinet. Cedrick is based in Uberlandia, Brazil.

Robin Mordasiewicz

Robin is a Cloud Business Development Engineer, with a focus on multi-cloud networking, WebApp and API Protection, and securing private AI workloads. Robin is based in Toronto, Canada.

Leonardo Moreira

As Cybersecurity Specialist, Leonardo has been in the market for 20 years, where he had the opportunity to work on projects for large OT and critical infrastructure companies in Latin America. He currently works as manager of Business Development Engineers for OT environments at Fortinet in the Latin America and Canada region. 

He has certifications such as CISSP, ISO 27001 LA, IEC 62443 Foundational and FCSS OT, in addition to a postgraduate degree in Business Intelligence from PUC-Rio and another postgraduate degree in Industrial Cybersecurity from Universidad de Chile.

Yovani Piamba

Yovani Piamba is an electronic engineer, and project specialist and passionate about security information. He started learning security from scratch in a Fortinet partner in Colombia and FortiGate was one of the first products he certified in 2007. After that rolled up his knowledge expanding in other technologies and product certifications. In 2014 certified as CISSP and in 2019 as CCSP, orienting his security toward cloud environments. 

Currently licensed as ISC2 trainer and AWS Architect associate. His plans are to grow in cloud security and architecting all solutions requested for clients today. Although his current Role is CSE manager in Fortinet, Yovani continues developing his technical security role, studying cloud security-related topics.  In personal topics, family is key in his life and sports are part of his hobbies. Yovani enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and traveling by car across Colombia.

Ana Fuentes

Electronic Engineer with 15 years of experience in pre-sales, implementations, tuning, support and project management of LAN, WLAN and cybersecurity solutions for IT and OT environments. Certified in CEH v8, ISO 27001 Information Security Internal Auditor, ISO 22301 Internal Auditor, NSE7 OT Security and ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist.

The last 9 years I have worked at Fortinet focused on projects in the Industry and Commerce vertical, currently I work in the role of Principal SE in Colombia, developing projects of information technology, operational technology, critical infrastructure and IoT, I also participate technically in strategic alliances with the main control vendors, and I am a member of the Colombia Chapter of the ISA (International Society of Automation).

Pablo Miño

With 18 years of experience in cybersecurity, including various roles, he has been an integral part of Fortinet for the past 8 years. Currently, he serves as a Consulting Systems Engineer for LATAM, specializing in FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR. He holds several industry certifications, such as CISSP and FCSS OT Security Certified. In his free time, he enjoys tinkering with Arduinos and 3D printing, as well as outdoor roller skating.

Gonzalo Rojas

Gonzalo Rojas Giglio, Chilean, OT Business Development Engineer for LATAM, electronic civil engineer with work experience focused on cybersecurity, specializing in industrial cybersecurity. Born, educated and resident in the city of Valparaíso, Chile, he constantly studies and addresses new topics and challenges in industrial cybersecurity, to feed his dogs.

Marcos da Silva

Marco currently is an Operational Technologies Business Development Engineer at Fortinet. Graduated in Control and Automation Engineering from the Federal University of ABC and holds an MBA in Sales Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. With over 10 years of experience in the Industrial Automation field, works in the development of business related to cybersecurity initiatives in the operational environment.

Roberto Beltran

Currently work as a Business Development Engineer for the OT Cybersecurity vertical, serving LATAM. Consulting in architecture, teaching workshops, presence in national and international events representing the brand, presentations on Cybersecurity.

Maximiliano Comerci

Maximiliano Comerci is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with over 15 years of experience across various tech companies. Currently, he serves as a consultant specializing in Fortinet solutions for Latin America. In his role, he engages daily with clients and engineers, offering expert advice on a broad spectrum of SecOps solutions. Thanks to his deep experience in network security, threat management, and compliance, Maximiliano has successfully led multiple projects that have significantly improved organizations` security posture.

José “Zé” Barreto

Jose “Ze” Barreto is an Operational Technology Cyber Security Business Development Engineer with 23+ years of experience in the automation area. Jose is NSE Certified: FCA, FCF, FCP Sec Ops, FCSS – OT, FCSS - ZTA, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist. In Jose’s free time, he is an amateur Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete, a professional BBQer, rider, and airbrush untalented artist.

Femi Elusogbon

Femi is an Operational Technology Business Development Engineer at Fortinet. He helps clients and partners in the journey of safeguarding critical infrastructure. Femi has worked with OT networks and led international projects for over 11 years. He has gathered lots of experience, especially during his essential roles with Tier 1 OEM, predominantly in the Aviation and Manufacturing industry. This experience helped him create security solutions that protect Industrial Control Systems and other OT environments.

 

Femi will share insight about the Fortinet OT Aware Security Fabric, which offers a range of security solutions that align with standards and frameworks like the Purdue Model, NIST and IEC62443 to help businesses protect their OT infrastructures. He will also draw on his experience to guide attendees through engaging Labs to assess vulnerabilities and implement compensating controls.

William Costa

William Costa is a Consulting Systems Engineer based in São Paulo, Brazil, with over 16 years of experience in Information Security and 19 years in Information Technology. Specializing in managing complex security infrastructures, he excels in vulnerability analysis, network security solutions, and leading technical projects.

 

Currently at Fortinet, William provides pre-sales technical support across Latin America and the Caribbean, conducts demo labs, and delivers training sessions. He holds numerous certifications, including CISSP, CEH, and Fortinet NSE 7, and has been recognized for his expertise and contributions to the field of information security. 

Danilo Lara

Danilo is a Cybersecurity professional with a postgraduate degree in Network Security with 20+ years of experience in the field. He holds advanced cybersecurity certifications like CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA CSAP, CompTIA CySA+ and CompTIA Security+. He works as Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) at Fortinet and is NSE certified in FCP Network Security, FCP Security Operations, FCSS OT Security, FCSS Public Cloud Security, FCSS Secure Access Service Edge and FCSS Zero Trust Access. In Danilo’s free time, he likes to ride, play guitar and accordion, as well as enjoying my family.

Chris Boland

 

With more than 18 years in the IT industry, Chris Boland brings a highly diverse skillset that includes solutions architecture, deployment and troubleshooting of technologies in environments ranging from high-uptime, multi-tenant data centers to small managed service providers.  In his current role at Fortinet, Chris supports Fortinet Sales Teams across Canada as a subject matter expert for SASE, SSE and Zero Trust Network Access.

Eric Bousquet

Eric Bousquet is a Business Development Engineer at Fortinet for Eastern Canada. Eric has an engineering degree from Polytechnique Montreal as well as a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sherbrooke. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the field of telecommunications and cybersecurity. He has notably evolved in professional services in both pre-sales and architecture as well as post-sales implementation. He has collaborated in the realization of projects of national and international scope.  He holds many Fortinet certifications including SASE administrator.

Erico Hortolan

Erico Hortolan is a Consulting Systems Engineer at Fortinet. He has been working in the cyber security field for more than 10 years. Before working at Fortinet, Erico was the tech lead of the network engineering and network security team for the largest financial institution in Brazil and has worked for a partner company in Brazil in the past, implementing network security solutions for multiple companies from energy generation to retail ones.

 

Erico has experience with multiple solutions from network access security to public cloud ones and he is also AWS network specialty certified. At Fortinet Erico works with core products like FGT, FAZ, FMG, FortiSASE and SD-WAN and holds the FCSS certification in Network Security and in Secure Access Service Edge.

Jorge Martin

Fortinet Consulting System Engineer (CSE) with more than 20 years of experience in Technology. Passionate about Cyber Security, Networking, Linux (always in my heart), Virtualization and Cloud. Certified CISSP and NSE8. Member of Cloud Security Alliance Panama Chapter and Internet Society of Panama.

Raja Sundarrajan

 

Raja Sundarrajan is a Business Development Engineer at Fortinet Canada, where he advises and consults with solutions partners and customers on mission-critical security issues including compliance, advanced threat management, and network solutions. With over 2 decades of experience delivering effective security and network solutions through consulting engagements, Raja is a big proponent of using analytics and automation to improve user experience and simplify operations.

Roberto is a Fortinet Consulting System Engineer (CSE) with more than 20 years of experience in networking, cybersecurity, and BSD/Unix systems. He holds CCIE Security Emeritus #21729 status through a long career in consulting, professional services, and cybersecurity architecture. He currently serves as a Subject Matter Expert for SASE and SSE in LATAM.

Eric Jensen

Eric Jensen (CISSP, OSCP, FCP, FCSS) is a Business Development Engineer for Fortinet Canada, where he advises and consults with solutions partners and customers on mission-critical security issues including compliance, risk management, and advanced threat protection.

With over 10-years of experience delivering effective SIEM and SOC solutions through consulting engagements and in his previous role as the technical director of a Canadian MSSP, Eric is a proponent of using data analytics and automation to reduce the impact of cyber incidents. Eric also carries an unwavering belief that Nicolas Cage is the greatest actor of our time.

Yaimarú García

Yaimarú García is a Systems Engineer with a master’s degree in information security from the University of La Rioja, Spain. With more than 18 years of experience around Cybersecurity, she has shared her knowledge in several industry events, presenting on crucial topics such as cybersecurity user awareness, incident response, pentesting and vulnerability analysis, perimeter security, digital fraud prevention, and digital risk protection.

 

Currently, Yaimarú is a Business Development Engineer in CyberSecurity Services for Fortinet, where she applies her experience and knowledge to help the customers to develop and improve cybersecurity services that protect organizations against advanced digital threats.

Ricardo Guzman

First got online with a 14.4 modem via a small BBS and never looked back. Systems engineer with 15+ years of experience in security and networking field working in small startups, government, and the financial sector in the Dominican Republic.  Previously to joining Fortinet worked on the client-side planning and managing information security architecture and operations.

On the academic side graduated as Computer Engineer in addition to an MBA focusing on Operations from Pontificia Universidad Madre y Maestra. He holds several technical certifications from different vendors, like CISSP, CISA, CEH, ITIL, among others and enjoys talking about all thing’s tech and music.

Jason Leger

Jason (J.O.) Leger is a Consulting Systems Engineer at Fortinet specializing in Security Operations with a degree in Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick. Based in Eastern Canada, J.O. brings over 20 years of experience in the cyber security field. J.O.`s background includes roles as a developer, systems engineer, and product manager for a world leading SIEM provider, giving them a comprehensive understanding of the cyber security landscape from multiple perspectives. This diverse experience provides a unique and holistic approach to assisting customers in identifying and mitigating potential threats.

Francisco Escamilla

Francisco Escamilla is part of the Consulting System Engineering team for the Americas Intl region with more than 10+ years of experience in the Cybersecurity Industry. He joined Fortinet in 2013 and has been in different roles in the engineering team as Presales engineer doing technical enablement activities.

 

He likes to take topics about analytics, monitoring and researching be able to learn more based on different methods and techniques over incident response topics and contribute with partners and colleagues into the cybersecurity ecosystem to integrate into SecOps field.

Pablo Narváez

With over 20 years of experience in IT and Cybersecurity, Pablo Narváez is a Business Development Engineer with Fortinet in Mexico City. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in engineering, he spent a couple of years in Alberta, Canada where he specialized in communication with an emphasis in public relations.

Currently, Pablo provides ongoing presales support and consulting services to customers to solve complex security and networking problems, define technology roadmaps, and align security objectives to business requirements. He specializes in automated security operations, application delivery networking, and large-scale datacenter fabrics.

Fabian Ubogi

With over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, Fabian Ubogi is a distinguished expert specializing in advanced threat protection and security operations (SecOps). Throughout a remarkable career, Fabian has held key positions at some of the world`s leading technology companies, including Intel, McAfee, and Fortinet. He is currently a Customer Solutions Engineer (CSE) at Fortinet, where he drives innovations in network security and helps clients enhance their security postures.

Fabian`s expertise encompasses threat intelligence, incident response, and comprehensive security strategies, making him a trusted authority in the field. In addition to his technical prowess, Fabian is a seasoned speaker, having presented at numerous industry and marketing events. His contributions have significantly advanced the security postures of global enterprises, and he continues to push the boundaries of cybersecurity.

Harold Dávila

Harold Davila is a Principal Systems Engineer at Fortinet and Network Security Expert (NSE 7 Certificate). He has extensive professional experience in compliance based on NIST, also having the “Lead Cybersecurity Professional Certificate (LCSPC)” certification. 

In addition, he has 15 years of experience fulfilling different roles ranging from design, consulting, implementation, and maintenance of network security solutions. Currently pursuing a masters degree in cybersecurity at the International University of Valencia (Spain) and working as an engineer developing network and security solutions for large companies 

Timothy Wostradowski

With +13 years of experience in cybersecurity and networking, including various roles. Currently, he serves as a Principal Systems Engineer in Canada holding a Network Security Expert (NSE 7 Certificate), working on strategic projects throughout the country, specializing on architecture of solutions, designing of complex solutions on networking.

Rafael Righi

Rafael Righi has a degree in Computer Science (2003) and also has a master’s degree in computer science in the area of systems security and encryption algorithms (2005). He currently works at Fortinet as CSE (Consulting Systems Engineer) in the Secops domain and in next generation SOC, focused on FortiSIEM, FortiSOAR and FortiRecon solutions.

He helps the customers and partners to understand deep aspects of the solutions, perform pre-sales activities and delivers Proof of Concepts for SOC solutions.  Before Fortinet he worked in Telecommunications companies (MPLS, BGP, security, asset monitoring) and for an Israeli company in the area of Threat Analytics and intelligence, where he acquired experience on CSOC main components, national CSIRT, needs and methodology and framework ATT&CK. He has also served as a technology instructor and university professor in the field of networking and security.

Ismael Montes

Ismael Montes is a Network Security Analyst, Telecommunications Engineer and Data and Machine learning Scientist with a Master of Science in Analytics by Georgia Institute of Technology. Currently working as a Business Development Engineer with over 15+ years of experience in Network infrastructures. Expertise in centrally managing, reporting, and implementing network security management and analytics.

Certified Network and Secure Infrastructure Specialist and Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist Security Operations, which validates his ability to design, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot advanced Fortinet security operations solutions. Do I need to confirm my attendance?

Yes. If you have been invited, it doesn’t mean you are confirmed. Please confirm your attendance by completing your Registration before July 26th, 2024.

Will Fortinet pay for airline ticket, hotel and/or meals expenses?

Partners must pay for their hotel and airline tickets expenses; meals are included in the hotel rate.

Will Fortinet pay for transfer Airport-Hotel-Airport?

Yes, Buses will be available by Fortinet at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Airport (PUJ).

What language will be used at the event?

Keynote sessions will be delivered in English. Simultaneous translations will be provided from English to Spanish only.

  • The event staff reserves the right to remove any person (or persons) if he/she or they present(s) potential harm, danger or disruption to themselves or anyone around them while attending the event.

Event Important Information

  • In case of an emergency, please contact a member of Fortinet team; he or she will contact the security person in charge of first aid. This person is not allowed to provide medicines, just first aid. Depending on the situation, a house doctor will be contacted to assist you and if it is an emergency the patient will be transported to the nearest hospital.
  • We suggest you have medical insurance in case of emergency.
  • The nearest hospitals are approximately 20min by car.
  • Fortinet strongly recommends you not to leave the hotel premises during the event. The hotel is all inclusive and has most of the things you may need. For your own safety, in case you need to go out please ask for an authorized taxi at the hotel lobby and let one of your colleagues know that you will leave the hotel.
  • The wristband that will be provided by the hotel during your check-in is your room key and your identification inside the hotel and must be always worn. Please, do not remove it.
  • Please be aware to be on time for every academic session in your agenda. Doors close 5 minutes after the hour.
  • Foreigners who wish to enter the Dominican Republic must be provided with visas in their corresponding travel documents, with certain exceptions. We strongly suggest before making your trip, checking in the authorized pages of the government the requirements of visa and passport to be able to enter the territory. To apply for a visa, you should contact the Embassy or Consulate nearest to your place of residence or designated jurisdiction.
  • The Dominican Republic uses Type A and Type B electrical plugs, which are compatible with North American devices. The voltage and frequency used in the Dominican Republic is 110 to 120 V and 60 Hz, as in the rest of Latin America and the United States. Bring a travel adapter if you are coming from a country with different types of plugs and always check the voltage compatibility of your devices before using them.
  • Weather: August in Punta Cana offers a warm tropical climate. Daily maximum temperatures are around 32°C.

Dress Code:

  • Welcome Cocktail: Business casual (includes jeans/polo shirts besides dockers/shirts)
  • Training: Business casual for speakers. Casual for attendees (no flip-flops, no tank tops, no swim shorts)
  • Group Photo: Please wear the Fortinet Xperts polo shirt you will receive in your Welcome Kit.

Airline Tickets

  • Flights should be covered by the Partner attending the FORTINET XPERTS Summit Americas International Flight tickets should be booked arriving on Sunday August 11th to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Airport (PUJ) and depart on Friday August 16th at any time.
  • FORTINET XPERTS Summit Americas International Sessions will begin on Monday August 12th at 8:00 AM and will finish on Thursday August 16th at 10:00 PM.
  • The Opening Welcome Cocktail will take place on Sunday August 11th at 7:30PM.
  • Note: Airline Tickets will be required to complete the event registration form.

Hotel Reservation

Fortinet negotiated a special All-Inclusive rate for the Partners attending the FORTINET XPERTS Summit Americas International Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Attendees will need to book their hotel stay to complete their event registration, to maintain the group rate your reservation must be completed by July 26th through the authorized registration form on our event website. Attendees will be charged the full amount of total stay at time of booking.

Rates (Meals, taxes and tips included):

  • $489 USD per night – Single room (1 adult)
  • $492 USD per night – Double room (2 adults)

Special group rate valid until June 25. From June 26th the rate will be $515 for a single room (1 adult) and $518 (2 adults) for a double room.

Rates Include:

  • All meals and drinks at the Hotel
  • 24-hour room service
  • All Hotel taxes and gratuities
  • Wireless Internet
  • Check in time at 3:00 PM local time.
  • Check Out is at 12:00 PM local time.

IMPORTANT: If the hotel reservation is made through any other source, the rate will vary. Registrations done after July 26th will be upon room availability and hotel rate at that time. Cancelation Policies

After registration and payment, reservations may be canceled with a 90% penalty until July 1st, 2024. From July 2nd to July 15th a 100% cancellation fee will be imposed, and no refunds will be allowed.
